How about change? Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life in East and West

L’viv, Ukraine, 15 – 19 November 2015, Bad Liebenzell, Germany, 1 – 5 December 2015
Objective and topics of the seminars
The installation and stabilisation of democracy and civil society in the states of the eastern partnership of the European Union (here Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova) is a long-term assignment in which especially the younger generation must be integrated at an early stage. Therefore the project aims particularly at young people who are ready to speak up for their country, common welfare and a democratic and pluralistic society.
The seminars deal with diverse best-practice examples and experiences of engagement and the participation of young people in political processes and institutions on a regional and local level in the involved countries. Primary aim is the support of a political and intercultural exchange of experiences as well as a mutual learning process between the participants from France, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. The task is to search for positive development options by having a European trans-border dialogue that is inspired by a multitude of existing experiences. A concrete issue of the project is how young people in Ukraine and Moldova are able to strengthen the efforts for reforms in their countries. Thereby the experiences of the society made with processes of transformation are of special significance.
Above that the project offers information and the possibility to discuss about political and geopolitical surrounding conditions and developments in the European Union and the countries of eastern partnership, particularly in Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
